Life’s Not about Finding Love, It’s About Being Love
Whenever we talk about love, the images of prince charming and Cinderella flashes across our minds, but the question is, is it love? We are taught from our very childhood that we are to find our one true soul mate, our one true love and we’ll find a purpose of our existence, but is it what life’s all about? Searching for love and waiting for others to make you happy so you can lead a fulfilling life?
What is Life?
This is a question that we frequently ask ourselves, and if you are somebody going through existential crises, then way too frequently. Let’s explore it a bit. Life is not about searching for love, it is about being a better version of yourself, and becoming a giver. It is never easy, but this is something that would bring you peace and tranquility. The world needs kind people and it needs the unconditional love.
Becoming a Giver
It can be a cliché but this is probably the truest thing anybody could ever say; life is not a bed of roses. It is full of thorns, you might see a couple of flower here and there, but mostly it is full of poisonous thorns, that’ll probably prick you without you can even blink. Not to scare you, but how can we make it better? We can make this world a better place by becoming a giver - a giver, who doesn’t expect anything in return and being kind to people. Kindness takes courage, strength and a lot of patience. Is it worth it? Totally.
If you truly want to experience love then you need to focus on being a better person of yourself. The only person you need to challenge and be better than are you. You don’t have to prove your worth to anybody. Be honest and be true to yourself, this is probably the best give you can give to yourself; self-acceptance and then accepting others. Acceptance and tolerance and the world’s biggest gift, the day we achieve them would be the day when the world would know peace.
Live, Not Exist
Don’t make searching for love the sole purpose of your existence. Find love and happiness within you. Accept yourself, love your-self and celebrate yourself and if you are lucky enough to have people who genuinely care about you, don’t let them go and never take them for granted, because these are the people worth living for. Life is too short to be thinking about whether or not will you find your soul mate. Focus on being a better person and giving back to the world and all the good things will find you. Be the change you want to see in the world, be inspiring, have a greater purpose and strive to get there because a lot of people just come and go but a very few actually leaves an impression. Live and not just exist.
